Join Rabbi Wise for a new series of classes on "Mussar: Jewish religious-spiritual teachings to deepen, strengthen and inspire our ethical-moral lives in this world, in real-time and space and with hope and confidence."

In Rabbi Wise's six-session class that begins on February 10th via ZOOM,  students will delve into a number of the Mussar movement's attributes/qualities/ traits (in Hebrew mi-dot, singular, mi-dah).  These will include, for example, compassion, humility, generosity, and honesty.  The Mussar movement foundation is that our religious and spiritual lives are intimately and powerfully connected to our ethical and moral lives and not exclusively but very significantly our relationships with God, family, other people, and ourselves.  There are contemporary Mussar institutes and organizations that are deeply Jewish but not Orthodox, as was the founding and first generations of the movement.  Information on these will be provided.  The text for the course is "With Heart in Mind" by Alan Morinis, who is the founder of the Mussar Institute.
