Rabbi Wise returns, via Zoom, to continue to dive into Rabbi Neil Gillman's, z"l, book, Traces of God: Seeing God in Torah, History, and Everyday Life. "Making Sense of Living Jewish Lives Today Without Compromising Our Faith, Honesty and Integrity, Part 4"

A Message from Rabbi Wise:
"This will be the final go around with Rabbi Gillman's text and I plan on beginning a new series of classes next year. The class will begin on Tuesday, February 13, at 7:30 pm (See the schedule above. Note that most of the sessions are on Tuesdays and there are two Mondays). We will discuss Rabbi Gillman's article "Confronting Chaos"on page 167 of "Traces of God."

Our discussion will approach this huge existential and theodical issue from the realities of our time: Global warming, Israel-Gaza, Ukraine, religious and political extremists, COVID, immigrants and refugees, gun violence and more. Our focus will be the eternal question and challenge as to how we can (we must!) keep our faith and maintain our hope?

As with previous classes, I will teach until around 8:15 leaving time for comments and questions. Former students and new students are eagerly and enthusiastically welcome.  Before each class, I will provide a set of questions to help guide our thinking and contemplation as we read each article. I trust you understand my request that if you register for the class that you prioritize your attendance each week. Continuity in any educational experience is important and it helps create--even on Zoom--a learning community.
