School Reopening Plans and Resources

To make the return to Adath’s religious school possible, we continue to work tirelessly to prepare our environment for in-person learning. While school this year will no doubt look and feel different than it has in the past, we are committed to providing a meaningful and joyous learning environment.

We are also ready to shift to a fully remote learning environment, should it be necessary. Please note that our policies and procedures may change during the school year as the COVID-19 situation evolves. We will notify families of any changes.

What will school look like:

Within the school building:

  • All members of the religious school staff are fully vaccinated.
  • Anyone in the building age two or older will be required to wear a mask.
  • Our HVAC System now has HEPA filtration.
  • Hand sanitizing is required before entering the school building. Students will sanitize their hands before and after coming into contact with surfaces, such as before and after playtime or using a climbing structure.
  • Wearing masks outside will be voluntary, as long as proper distancing is maintained.
  • Students will spend the majority of their time at a 3-foot distance from their peers.

NOTE: There won’t be a canteen this year. Students will be provided with an individually wrapped snack that they can enjoy with proper social distancing.

Health and Safety:

For students/families/staff:

  • Please make sure you or one of your pick-up contacts is always reachable and available to pick up your child with 30 minutes' notice.
  • Please do not come to school if you or your child is experiencing the following symptoms:
    • Fever of 100º or higher
    • Chills, shaking or shivering
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • Fatigue, muscle, or body aches
    • Headache
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Sore throat or cough
    • Runny Nose
    • Congestion
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Diarrhea

All families are expected to notify the school if:

  • A child is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
  • A child is being tested for COVID-19.
  • Someone in your household has COVID-19.

We will share information with the school community if there is a case of COVID-19 in the school.

Curriculum:

Tribes
This year, the Tribes program will be "in-house," meaning with one's own grade group. The Madrichim in the classroom will facilitate the program, and the homeroom teacher will assist. We can go back to the mixed-age model if and when restrictions are eased.

Music/Tefillah
Instructors will either come to classrooms or meet in smaller groups. Seats will be assigned.

Electives
We are putting the electives program for grades 3-6 on hold until further notice. Our goal is to reduce the time throughout the day when students interact with students outside of their class. Again, we can revisit this model if and when restrictions are eased.

FAQS

Q: How do we register for this school year?

The first step in registration is to complete the Enrollment Online forms which you can find on the  Jarson Education Center webpage. After you have submitted the form, you will receive a confirmation email stating your student has been registered.

Q: How will you ensure that the schools are clean and sanitized?

Each classroom and office area will have liquid disinfectant available for use as needed by teachers, students, and/or office staff. All cleaning materials have been approved for effectiveness and safety by the Centers for Disease Control. Custodial staff will be actively cleaning all buildings throughout the day and evening to ensure maximum cleanliness and safety.

Q: Will masks be required?

The use of face coverings is determined from the guidance of various agencies including the Department of State Health Services, the Hamilton County Health Department, and/or executive orders from state and county leaders. In accordance with the recommendation from the Hamilton County Health Department at this time, students of all ages, as developmentally appropriate, are required to wear face coverings in all areas, including classrooms, and when social distancing of at least 6 ft. is not possible. Teachers and staff are required to wear masks while indoors. This could change depending on future guidance.
